Why have you chosen to pursue a career in music education?

Since a young age, music has been a very important part of my life. I have a passionate heart and strong desire to share my knowledge of piano with people to help them to achieve their goals. I believe that anyone can play music and I’m excited to share the joy of music through piano!

I strongly believe that achievement and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive. I aim to develop solid piano technique and knowledge while also encouraging exploration of the vast timbré of the piano while gaining exposure to all types of music with an open-minded approach.

At all levels, my main mission is to help clients to achieve their goals! I teach in different learning styles to motivate people to learn in a fun environment! I focus on building a basic foundation for piano playing and musicality through rhythmic training, theory, basic composition, sight reading and the exploration of different music genres. At advanced levels, I focus on refining piano technique, posture, position and movements. I enjoy helping clients prepare for exams and hone their repertoire and concert performances.

What do you love most about your role at Sono?

Being a piano teacher at Sono Music allows me to share my knowledge of piano and the joy of music to clients in a professional and relaxing environment. Being part of a larger team provides excellent opportunities for professional development and sharing ideas with my colleagues.

Do you perform regularly?

I perform classical and instrumental piano music for weddings and other special occasions.

Who are your main musical influences?

Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy. They were the most influential French composers and pianists of impressionist music in the early 20th century. Debussy’s music emphasised “colours” through his creative use of musical timbre while Ravel incorporated different elements of modernism, baroque and jazz into his music. I really enjoy playing their music as I get to explore the extraordinary sounds of piano and play stylistically diverse repertoire.
