Julia is a versatile and passionate voice coach at Sono, bringing a wealth of experience and technical expertise to each session. With a background spanning pop, rock, soul/R&B, jazz, funk, and blues, Julia combines diverse musical styles with advanced skills in songwriting, composition, and ear training. She regularly uses a loop station in her performing, adding unique dimensions to her coaching repertoire. Her stage experience, gained from performing on large stages and festivals, enables her to offer practical guidance in stage presence, helping vocalists feel at home on stage.
Julia draws inspiration from a wide range of artists across genres. Her pop music influences include Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, and Adele, while her passion for soul and jazz is fueled by artists like Stevie Wonder, Tom Misch, and Hiatus Kaiyote. Additionally, she takes creative inspiration from composers like Hans Zimmer and John Legend, bringing an expansive musical perspective to her coaching.
Her professional journey is both impressive and inspiring. Julia reached the semi-finals on The Voice France in 2017, an experience that marked a significant milestone in her career. She has since released an EP available on Spotify, composed the theme song for a French television series, and opened for renowned international artists such as Patrice, Ayo, and Keziah Jones. Since moving to Australia, Julia has been collaborating with producer Konstantin Kersting (known for “Dance Monkey”) on new music projects, showcasing her ongoing commitment to her craft and her dynamic growth as an artist.
Julia’s approach to teaching is centred on empathy, tailored guidance, and a thorough understanding of vocal technique and musical expression. She takes great pride in helping individuals refine their vocal abilities while nurturing the confidence they need to express themselves fully through music.
