Introducing Montana, a talented voice coach at Sono School of Music, specialising in a wide array of genres including pop, jazz, rap, and classical. With a strong foundation in essential vocal skills, Montana is well-versed in sight reading, songwriting, composition, and ear training. Additionally, she plays piano, allowing her to enhance her vocalists’ learning experiences.
Montana regularly performs under the name Montana Lara, showcasing her versatile singing style. She has participated in significant events, such as performing at the Gold Coast Lord Mayor Christmas Carols, which is broadcast on Channel 7. Her experience also includes solo performances in a gospel choir and various gigs at venues like Dreamworld and RSL clubs, often collaborating with friends and producers from the Brisbane music scene for cabaret shows and themed performances.
Her love for music spans numerous genres, making it challenging for her to choose favourites. However, she particularly enjoys powerful ballads from iconic artists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Barbra Streisand. In contemporary pop, she admires artists like Lana Del Rey, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, and Sia, while her passion for jazz shines through her admiration for legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett.
Montana finds immense joy in the bond she develops with her clients, striving to create a safe and nurturing environment for learning and growth. Her approach to teaching is focused on fostering a supportive space where individuals can explore their vocal abilities without hesitation. She is dedicated to helping her vocalists find their unique voices while encouraging them to express themselves through song.
Having completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre at the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre, Montana combines her extensive training with her performance experience to provide valuable insights and guidance to her clients. Her ultimate goal is to empower them to embrace their passion for singing while developing their skills in a fun and engaging atmosphere. With a commitment to helping others grow as musicians, Montana’s goal is to share her love for music with the next generation of artists at Sono School of Music.
