Emily
Emily is a dedicated piano coach who brings a thoughtful and well-rounded approach to music education. In support of her strong technical foundation and deep appreciation for musical expression, she holds she holds the award of AMEB Grade 8 in Piano. Emily enjoys working across a range of styles, including classical, contemporary, and jazz. She places particular emphasis on sight reading and interpretive skills.
Her experience goes beyond the piano. She has played violin and percussion in school orchestras and ensembles,
and has sung in choirs. These diverse experiences have helped her develop strong listening, collaboration,
and performance skills. They also shape her flexible and inclusive teaching style.
Emily draws inspiration from composers such as Chopin, Ravel, Cécile Chaminade, and Florent Schmitt.
She values music that offers colour, nuance, and lyrical depth. She is especially passionate about helping
all developing musicians connect emotionally to the music they play.
At the heart of Emily’s teaching is the desire to create a space that nurtures both skill and stillness.
She aims to help students build confidence, engage with beauty, and grow through meaningful challenges.
Her approach encourages curiosity, self-expression, and a lasting enjoyment of music.
