Remi
Remi is a passionate piano coach at Sono Music, holding a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, specialising in Creative Music Technology. He also has an Associate in Music (AMusA) in Piano and as well as AMEB Qualifications, equipping him with a deep understanding of both performance and theory.
Beyond piano, Remi enjoys playing acoustic guitar and the Cajón, reflecting his love for rhythm and versatility as a musician. His musical tastes span a wide range of genres. In the classical and romantic realms, he finds great pleasure in performing and studying Mozart’s sonatas, as well as the emotional depth of Brahms and Schumann. Jazz also holds a significant place in his heart, especially Big Band jazz and reharmonization arrangements. He draws inspiration from jazz legends like Oscar Peterson and Hiromi Uehara, whose improvisational styles influence his own musical creativity. Remi has also embraced Australian indie music, enjoying artists such as The Backseat Lovers, Vacations, and The Rare Occasions, whose unique styles inspire his explorations within this genre.
Although Remi primarily focuses on piano teaching, he is an active performer and enjoys participating in piano recitals where he can share his love of classical works. His deep connection to the piano and his enjoyment of playing live music in front of others are an integral part of his musical career.
Remi is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all musicians. He believes in the importance of developing a sincere, long-term relationship between coach and client, built on trust and mutual respect. His goal is to foster an atmosphere where people feel comfortable expressing themselves, asking questions, and embracing challenges. His teaching approach is grounded in the belief that music is a deeply personal experience, and each individual has a unique perspective to share.
For Remi, music education is about more than just teaching technical skills – it’s about inspiring pianists to develop a connection to the music itself. He is passionate about sharing his love for music with others, helping them to grow not just as musicians but as individuals. Through his nurturing approach, Remi aims to guide others in discovering the joy and fulfilment that music can bring.
