Angelique
Angelique is a passionate and versatile vocal coach at Sono Music. A graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium, she holds a Bachelor of Music and was awarded Academic Honours alongside the Griffith Award of Academic Excellence. With strong foundations in both classical and contemporary styles, she brings a well-rounded and dynamic approach to teaching, specialising in contemporary, popular, jazz, and musical theatre voice.
Angelique supports her students not only in building technical vocal skills but also in areas like songwriting, ear training, production, and recording. While her primary focus is voice, she also plays piano, guitar, and bass, adding to her musical versatility and understanding. She holds a Certificate of Performance in Musical Theatre through AMEB, giving her a strong formal background to guide students through a range of vocal techniques and styles.
As a performer, Angelique writes and performs original music, blending introspective lyrics with indie-pop textures influenced by artists like Maggie Rogers, Beabadoobee, and Clairo. Her love for musical theatre and jazz also shines through, shaped by icons such as Bernadette Peters, Jessie Mueller, Norah Jones, and Diana Krall. Her debut single ‘Mon Amour’, originally a university project, gained airplay on ABC Radio and Triple J’s Soul Ctrl, and she has since built a strong presence in Brisbane’s live music scene, performing headline shows and supporting touring artists such as Harry Marshall.
Angelique’s mission as a coach is to nurture each student’s unique voice and creative identity. She strives to create a supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop their skills, and explore their own artistry. Through teaching, she shares her passion for music’s ability to inspire, connect, and transform.
